Earthworm Foundation is seeking a motivated, Senior Relationship Manager, based in UK, Winchester / London (Hybrid) to manage partnerships with a range of leading companies on responsible sourcing of natural raw materials and build an internal team around this over time. Responsibilities

The Senior Relationship Manager will be responsible for:

  • Strategic oversight of a portfolio of Earthworm member and client companies to ensure successful delivery of current workplans, grow the impact and value of our existing partnerships and successfully onboard additional companies as new opportunities are secured.
  • Build a dedicated UK partnerships team over time. Current resources include one Project Officer (shared with the Regenerative Agriculture team), allocated time from a number of other colleagues in the UK team plus occasional support from external consultants when required.
  • Personally manage Earthworm’s partnerships with 2-3 companies, with support from the Project Officer. The successful candidate will initially be responsible for managing Earthworm’s relationship with two leading companies in the food and healthcare categories. Responsibilities may change over time.
  • Work as part of the wider Earthworm team to build strong relationships between Earthworm, Member companies and other relevant partners and stakeholders;
  • Create proposals, negotiate contracts and identify opportunities to grow the scope of work;
  • Develop and implement work plans collaboratively with Members and other Earthworm’s teams. Monitor progress and ensure delivery and reporting commitments are fulfilled;
  • Support Members in supply chain environmental and social risk and opportunity analysis, mapping, and reporting in conjunction with other Earthworm teams;
  • Support Members on stakeholder, supplier and customer engagement;
  • Develop Member-related communication tools and documents in collaboration with other Earthworm teams;
  • Represent Earthworm at relevant industry events and conferences;
  • Help identify prospective companies and commodities that present opportunities to increase Earthworm’s impact on responsible commodity production;
  • Support development and implementation of global Earthworm strategies.

Requirements – Candidate Profile Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree or higher in business management, the environment, sociology/anthropology, international development, or a related field;
  • Minimum 5 years relevant professional experience working with business clients. Experience of working in an international corporate or non-profit is desirable.
  • Excellent relationship management skills and experienced in managing and growing partnerships in complex organisations;
  • Experience and understanding of environmental, labour and social responsibility issues in supply chains. Knowledge of natural raw materials and agricultural commodities an advantage;
  • Motivational team leader with experience of managing direct reports
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective at influencing and engaging with stakeholders at all levels;
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams to successfully deliver on complex projects;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word;
  • Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail;
  • Good analytical skills and comfortable working with complex data;
  • Used to managing budgets, meeting deadlines and juggling multiple priorities.

Language skills:

  • Fluency in English (written & spoken);
  • Other languages (e.g., French, Spanish) an advantage.

Working conditions / Physical effort:

  • Hybrid: Home / Earthworm office in Winchester or London
  • Regular travel within the UK;
  • Occasional travel in Europe and to long-haul destinations, such as field sites in SE Asia;
  • Our global operations span many time zones which means staff may be required to work outside office hours.

Other information:

  • Open-ended contract;
  • Full-time position;
  • Salary range: £50,00- £60,000 p.a.;
  • UK national or legal authorisation to work in the UK required.
