Earthworm Foundation is seeking a motivated Project Manager Latam, based in Mexico City, highly professional individual, passionate about social and environmental justice, motivated by working with and for supply chains that are good for nature and people to be part of our Mexico office as a full-time employee, supporting the LATAM region in implementing policies, commitments and actions of members and clients across LATAM supply chains.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in field visits to companies operations and conduct interviews with employees and community members to evaluate the companies’ performance around sustainability priorities. Create reports on findings;
  • Develop and deliver training to companies’ staff, community participants and civil society representatives;
  • Provide training, advice and tools to companies on how to evaluate and address the social and environmental impacts of their operations;
  • Support activities to respect customary land rights, such as the implementation of Free, Prior, Informed Consent processes; documentation of traditional land tenure systems being used by local peoples; participatory mapping of customary land and resource use; and land conflict resolution processes;
  • Contribute to EF country and regional plans and initiatives to address social and environmental challenges in commodity supply chains;
  • Support the business development activities;
  • Prepare budgets and do administrative tasks for the regional office;
  • Identify companies and commodities that present opportunities to increase our impact on responsible commodity production in Latam;
  • Develop member-related communication tools and documents;
  • Communication with external stakeholders as necessary for outreach and research, and to develop strong relationships with other organizations and experts.

  • Strong discipline of delivering high quality outputs in a timely manner;
  • Consistent completion of required administrative tasks i.e. Time Sheets, Expenses, in accordance to the procedures in place;

  • Financial accountability, systematic checking of figures and budget availability.

Requirements – Candidate Profile Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 5 years Project Management or Business Management and Development experience in a relevant field. Ideally in the manufacturing, agriculture or forestry sectors touching supply chain management, procurement, quality control, environmental management, social impact or labor relations;
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline to the position and a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience.
  • Experience working on social aspects of natural resource management programs; and/or community development programs; and/or company operations;
  • Experience with working across multiple cultures & time zones
  • Responsible, organized, honest, disciplined and committed person, with high capacity for teamwork, collaborative;

Language skills:

  • Fluency in Spanish (native);
  • Proficiency in English professional proficiency (written & spoken).

  • Passion for working on environmental conservation/no deforestation targets.
  • Hands-on, practical, innovative.
  • Flexible, takes initiative, self-motivated and has a positive attitude.

Working conditions / Physical effort:

  • Travel to companies and supply chains operations in Mexico and/or other countries within the region;
  • Work in-person and via phone and email with EF global teams and international company representatives.

Other information:

  • 1-year contract (renewable);
  • Full-time position;
  • Legal authorisation to work in Mexico required;
  • This position is based on funding confirmation.
