Earthworm Foundation is seeking a motivated Digital Content and Engagement Manager, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with experience in digital content strategy, excellent communication and writing skills, passionate about working with supply chain data to generate value and interested in a career with a dynamic non-profit that builds relationships with companies, governments and civil society organizations to bring responsible products to market.

  • Execute digital media strategies that meaningfully connect with Earthworm’s audiences across all its channels—including the website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube;
  • Develop concrete plans to grow audience base and deepen audience engagement;
  • Digital content strategy:
    • Ensure alignment with global vision and content strategy;
    • Monitor analytics to understand Earthworm’s audiences better. This includes using insights from analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of various projects;
    • Study and capitalize on local and global trends in digital media and audience engagement. Identify opportunities to launch new channels or evolve existing channels to align with Earthworm’s goals and audience engagement strategy;
    • Implement the SEO and SEA strategy.
  • Build online and offline relationships to facilitate content partnerships;
  • Partner with local studios, broadcasters/networks, influencers, aggregators and specialist agents;
  • Work on the ways in which other distribution channels—including public relations, partnerships, and events—can support the work of Earthworm’s communications content planning and production:
    • Develop new ideas for content and social engagement, and ensure ideas are translated into concrete activities;
    • Develop a content calendar and ensure projects in all digital content channels stay on track—including the web, social media, and multimedia;
    • Create and tailor content to adapt it to the different digital channels and repurpose material for digital use;
    • Develop guidelines for content creation and marketing for all digital channels and ensure their implementation.

Requirements – Candidate Profile Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent higher level training in mass communications, or other related field;
  • Skilled in using digital platforms;
  • A good understanding of how to attract, grow, and engage audiences. Experience growing an audience following for a major brand is preferred;
  • 4-5 years' experience in integrated content distribution and digital strategies;
  • Expertise in digital trends, and content best practices (including SEO, web content optimization, paid and organic promotion, UX, with strong journalistic and editorial insights) ;
  • Experience in using data and analytics to measure impact, create metrics reports, and refine strategies to achieve success (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and Publishing Tools, Twitter Analytics, Sprout Social, etc.).

Language skills:

  • Proficiency in English;
  • Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia.

  • 1-year contract (renewable);
